Other Relevant Historical Information:

The painting was executed in 1909. In 1910 it was exposed at the Exhibition of Secession in Berlin and in 1911 at the exhibition of artworks from the Wroclaw’s private collections. Even then it had already been in the possession of Emil Kaim. As in 1940 the remaining artworks from the Kaim’s collection were sequestrated, the landscape by Trübner was among them. The picture was sold in 1941 to the antiquarian Erich Wiese. Since then no trace of it has remained.

This painting was executed in several versions, which had often occurred by Trübner. One of them since 1910 has been exposed in the Staatliche Kunsthalle of Karlsruhe. Therefore the latter painting is frequently being identified erroneously with the landscape from the former Kaim’s collection.
